ADRIAN NEWSTEAD has worked to represent Aboriginal artists and promote their work to a National and International audience for more than 20 years. Through exhibitions, articles and publications he has made a continuing contribution to the increasing body of knowledge on the art, the artists and the industry that sustains them. He has coordinated more than 250 Aboriginal art exhibitions, many of them at the unique Coo-ee Gallery in Sydney. He has been a valuer of Australian Aboriginal art and has acted as the agent for indigenous artists in negotiating copyright and licensing agreements. His proven commitment to Aboriginal art and the fostering of greater economic independence of Aboriginal traditional and urban communities is ongoing.
